Where's My Refund?
By Chris Bevington, CPA
January 27, 2012Tax season is upon us, and many taxpayers will be looking to get their returns filed early in hopes of receiving a refund from Uncle Sam or the state. If you’ve already filed your taxes, and are fortunate enough to have money due back from the IRS or the state of Ohio, please use the links below to find the status of your expected refunds. Or, you may call the IRS helpline at 1-800-829-1040. Have your social security number, filing status (Single, Married Filing Joint, Married Filing Separate, etc.), and the amount of your refund available before making the call or using the links below. For Ohio refund information using the helpline, call 1-800-282-1784. You’ll need your social security number and date of birth in order to find the information you seek when contacting the state.
If you have not yet filed your returns, but do anticipate getting a refund, make sure to e-file your returns, using the direct deposit option, if you are looking for the best way to speed up the process.
