Up to this point, it’s been a fantastic year for investors – both bonds and stocks have done well. As we look forward to the final quarter of the year, there is an obvious catalyst for volatility in the markets – the presidential and congressional elections.
In August, the Democratic party held their convention in Chicago, Illinois, where Kamala Harris officially accepted the nomination for President. This November, she will run against Donald Trump, the Republican party nominee.
Since the beginning of 2023, the S&P 500 has been the best performing stock index. It has also exhibited lower than usual levels of volatility. In other words, it’s been on an awesome run.
